Hey,
For whatever reason, the idle of my 86 Turbo (Fuel injected) dips to about 500rpm when I stop, after a few seconds it will return to about 900rpm where it is comfortable This has caused the engine on one occasion to stall when the engine is cold, but that hasn't been much of a problem when the engine is warmed up, just annoying. Maybe its a problem to do with the airflow meter. Any ideas? Thanks,
Dan

update- It hasn't gotten any better. It will die most times I stop it, unless I have the air conditioning on, which usually puts the idol up to 1100rpm, and now keeps it at 900rpm, the place where it idled without air conditioning when the car was running well. Also, On decelleration, the car backfires lightly multiple times. Other than this, the car runs better than it ever did, which is odd. My main suspects are bad gas (particular local gas station sometimes gives my car trouble, causing me not to go ther, but not this bad), dirty fuel injectors, or something wrong with the airflow meter. Any suggestions? I'm just lucky I have a backup car

When I had an idle problem, it was because the idle air control (IAC) valve had fallen out. Mine was too high though, not too low.

I added some fuel injector cleaner, which cleared up the problem partially. In any case, its time for a visit to the mechanic.

I'm a bit new to the Esprit game (I just bought an 88' Esprit)... but I have heard a couple people say that the "fuel flow valve" can go bad. In fact, I think I read about this earlier this week on this forum some place... I'll go looking...
