Hi,
I'm thinking of buying and fitting the mod-wise hot start kit. I have had a look at the fitting instructions on the Griffith and Chimaera pages. Thing is my wiring loom does not have the 3 black wire links (one of which is required) hanging of it. There is however a blue plastic block in the similar position that has a bunch of wires entering it from the loom but no wire links.
Has anyone come across this before and if so is there an alternative installation?

Thanks

On my Chim I just found the starter wire on the engine loom in the engine bay and connected it to that. I strapped the relay to the side of the coil. I don't remember where I got the 12V from but you're not exactly short of sources in the engine bay smile Worked perfectly smile

With early cars the mod has to be done "under bonnet". Use general automotive relay, relay mounted near to alternator.(Could be done on starter, but water, not good). Take the supply from the alternator output(heavy cable), to pin 30 of the relay, pin 85 to the engine(ie neg) pin 86 light wiring, 87 heavy wiring. Run both(carefully) to the solenoid. Take connector off and connect to light wire, place heavy cable to the solenoid.

These instructions are going to be given to Griff and Chim web sites, with slightly better wording!

It has to be done at "good wiring" ie the final cable run to the solenoid. So yes it can be done somewhere in the footwell, who knows where ! On later cars it obvious.
