E46, getting it to say it needs a service sooner than normal

Hi,

I've seen many frigs on the net that enable you to reset your miles to next service counter.

Is there a way to get it to say "Service Now?"

I have a lease car I'd like to get serviced before I buy and sell it on but it has 5k to go.........

Any ideas - other than the trip to Le Mans in a couple of weeks which should grind it down a bit....

Take it on a track day - they tend to make my interval drop rather quickly.

A few points

1. Contract Hire Companies arnt't stupid! Looks a bit suspicious that the cars done less than 10k? circa since its last service, when previously you've been doing 14-16k? between services

2. If I was buying your car, if it had only managed 10k or less between its last 2 services I'd run..... because I'd know its been thraped!

3. If the contract hire company does realise what your doing, could constute fraud.... and the value they want to realise from the sale of the car will most likely rise, in the value the offer the car to you 'pre auction'

4. If the cars 5k off a service and you plan on reselling its not really going to have much effect on its value (its not like the service is due or over due)

5. If you insist, I believe revs above 4k and number of cold starts are what knocks the interval down rapidly
