HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLP.

I have nearly finish repairing my poorly TVR Chimaera 1994 model.

I have just noticed that there is a fair bit of play in the steering rack, i have checked and it is DEFINATELY in the rack. You wobble the track rod and i wobbles in the rack and not the uj's.

IT IS NOT POWER STEERING

Does anyone have a second hand NON PAS rack that i can buy off them???

Cheers

Simon.

Do a Google on Exactly TVR for Adrian Venn's 'phone number. He should be able to get you a reconditioned one no problem.

Hi,

Just wondered if you still had the Chimaera steering rack for sale? and how much you want for it.

Cheers Jon.

At my service this year Austec identified play in my sterring rack (non-PAS) and replaced one of the joints. It turns out that TVR fit one that is exposed to all the elements/dirt and so these tend to wear early.
I have a feeling the new joint (enclsed in a rubber boot) was about £20 but was a 2 hour job to replace.
It may be worth looking at the joints before replacing the whole unit.
