OK, been on my hols and got back on Saturday, so not much chance to really drive the car properly (I will post some piccies when I suss out how to rolleyes )

What I had noticed on my brief drives prior to going away was a pain in my left foot every time I pressed down the clutch pedal. Sort of like the effort to press the pedal down was spreading the bones in my foot if that makes sense. I put it down to not being used to the car and my naff trainers.

Well today I went for a proper drive and in traffic. The difference this time being me wearing my steel toe work boots for a site visit... they have a thick sole.

My foot is killing me frown

Now, do I possibly have a problem with my foot OR is the extreme effort to press the clutch pedal down (causing my pain) a major problem looming with the clutch?

My foot was fine prior to getting this car.

Help!

Your body weight is more than the pressure needed to depress the clutch. Does it hurt when you stand and flex it as though you were pressing the clutch?

my god I thought it was just me getting old.
I had it for a couple of months after getting mine.
It went away after that - strangely enough along with my clutch ! wobble

Stand on the bottom step of your stairs (facing the stairs) with the front of your feet on the step. Slowly lower your heels below the level of the step and then lift your heels so they are above the level of the step. If you can do this several times without pain then at least your achilles tendon is ok.

If you are ok then I'm pleased, cos I've bust mine and i'm in a friggin pot!

...So I'm a copilot again at this year at Le-Mans trip!!!!!!

OMG, you lot think I'm soft!!eek

Maybe I should explain with a rephraseredface

I can assure you that as an ex-bodybuilder (stopped 10-years ago), so more than capable of lifting some sort of weight (well, maybe not very much nowadays)wink

At 5'10" I weigh about 14 1/2 stone and yes, it is of the slightly flabby variety, but the effort needed to pump the clutch is causing me a genuine pain - I'm certain that I am personally OK because when I stop driving the car I'm fine.

I've hopped on the bad foot and am totally fine confused

I'm hearing a Cerbera clutch is fairly light, so this cannot be right. I also find that when the car is hot, getting into various gears can be more difficult.

All my cars have been auto for the past 5 years since a motorcyle accident, I haven't used my left leg for driving since. I too had a pain (mild discomfort) for about a week, now it's gone.

Also the palm of my left hand hurt for about the same time through agressive gear changes (which again I hadn't done in 5 years).

If it's not gone within 500-1,000 miles get a new foot hehe

Try driving a Ferrari 308. The pain will go right up the whole of your left leg (If you can pin yourself into the seat by gripping onto the side supports with your elbows)

I've had this foot pain (on the ball of my foot near the big toe) when driving the Cerb in only one pair of shoes that I own, so try changing your shoes.

Steve.

Well it seems that the pain is almost absent and can only mean one thing... weak foot eek

Looks as though the more I use the car, the more used to the clutch my foot becomes.

Now I'm really starting to enjoy the car wink

Must start to visit the gym again, I seem to be falling apart frowntongue out

My wife laughed. I bought a pair of trainers specifically for driving the Cerbera, as my others were too wide for the close pedals.

I manage just fine with size 11 oakley trainers, which are pretty wide. What are you lot doing wrong?

Back to the subject, my cerb clutch is relatively light in comparison to some "performance cars" that I've driven. Maybe your clutch is buggered.

Mine too. I find reverse a pain from 5th, so inevitably I have to do it from neutral which results in the dreaded crunch as there is no syncro ...only when hot though.
