PS2 and Old Game
Discussion
Hi, does anyone know if older dvds and CDs can start to become unreadable?
I have a game from 2001 for my PS2, and its a great game! But it now seems to freeze a lot, if I leave it for 5/10 minute each time it does it, sometimes it unfreezes! It seems to be having trouble reading the disc even though it has no scratches on it all!
Is this likely to just be the disc degrading??

I don't think it is the disc degrading, maybe the Ps2 has been used or the ps2 games are used very often. I know what your on about as it happened to me recently with TDU on ps2.I have a game from 2001 for my PS2, and its a great game! It could be that the laser has un-aligned itself (it can happen if the console has taken a bit of a knock).
