After a 5 month project I sucessfully ran the Griff today.

There have been a couple of small teething troubles so far involving loose jubilee clips and a leaky fuel fitting but these were easily solved.

It sounds really sweet with the 404 cam and minimal silencing

Idle? What's that?

I didn't really get chance to play with proper idle. I just set the stepper to let it idle around 2000 to 2300 RPM so the cam could bed in. After that it was getting late and I would be getting complaints from the neighbours.

I don't know what's worse - not having run the engine or hearing the sound of potential and having nowhere to sit in the car and no steering wheel.

I'm guessing it's Dave's hi-tech knock sensor. Dave?

It's a brown wire! The one that goes from the altenator to the starter. You can't see the knock sensor in that picture.

Can i take it your playing with a aftermarket ECU judging by the odd lambda probe?

Yes. That, the 8 coil packs and lack of AFM kind of give it away
