What's the general opinion here of Carrera GT prices over the next 12 - 18 months? I feel values have firmed up since Porsche ended production? Would it be a relatively 'safe' purchase or have they still got a long way to go?? Thanks smile

A reasonably astute bloke near where i live has just bought one,he made a good turn on a F40 and reckons the CGT has bottomed out so he added one to his portfolio..

if you've ever been within 10feet of one in the flesh its obvious they *should* always trade a BIG spread over the latest top end 911. I just can't see them any lower than now. Even with gbpusd at 2 you can't import for anywhere near 200 anymore even with many cars now out of/approaching waranty.

Is the warranty situation still 2 years after date of reg or have Porsche done something to extend? Heard a while back there may be something in the pipeline but nothing since.....

I looked into this about a month ago and was told they are not extendable and no plans to introduce. There's a nice one in Zurich for 490 swissies too...

Cheapest US car at the moment around $345 retail @ 9k miles which shipped back to the UK lights etc. converted SVA's etc would be circa. £215k GBP.

In the Sunday Times last week, silver with black @ £220k 3k miles 2005 car just out of warranty.

Never materialised so deduce from that what you will!

I've spoken to a good contact at an OPC in Germany and he said a definate no to extended warranty.

i have seen this letter that states if you had a CGT (in germany) and it had all its correct services etc !! the car would be elegible for a extended warranty ! i am still trying to get a copy to fight this !

Was offered one privately recently at £215 for a 05 car with 1000 miles. Didn't bite, still think they've got a bit more to lose.

Couple seem to have sold thru the usual indepedants recently at 220-something....must mean they're picking them up for no more than 200.

Being told by OPC that no warranty extension is possible.

There was one in Norfolk, I suspect it may be this one that the owner needed to get out of quick as he had a 2.8rsr inbound and this may be somewhat of a red herring as far as prices are concerned. The only retial car cheaper was the ex. Gumball car with 27k miles that went for £195k last year.

I'm starting to get tempted by one too.

2006 silver with black lthr, 1k miles being advertised on bloomberg for £235k.

A few cars with only 1k miles about then - do they self destruct after 1k miles??

I thought the gumball car was offered at 189k by V12online and sold for 175/179.

For obvious reasons some people will not put miles on their CGTs but in fact the first oil change "minor" service is not due until 15000 miles or 2 years.
Almost uniquely amongst cars of this "ilk" the CGT is built to take the mileage !

If anyone knows of a black one for sub 230K please PM me smile

I would snap up the 205k uk car, prices have firmed in the usa, infact gone back up a little.
The gum baller car sold for 185 i was informed by V12,when i was looking at there Black car they had for sale.
You will not regret buying the car if you intend to use it,its awesome.
And as rightly said ,built to last.
I thought they would start with a one last year, waited 2 years, they never did.I dont think you will lose a lot on them now,and the best fun for sure.
