longest repair time
Discussion
pah, 3 months was a common length of time for 2000-2001 Tuscan owners to be without their car as it sat in the engine rebuild queue at the factory.
7 weeks was the most amusing when the factory lost my passenger seat after it was sent back to be re-stitched by someone over the age of 3 and without a glue sniffing addiction. Eventually found in a box somewhere at the factory.
total time for my Tuscan off the road in it's first year. 6 Months.
Why did I just not sell it? Because there is nothing else like it!!

I had 7 weeks last year for a new radiator & a couple of oil hoses at a main dealer. Mostly this was due to the incompetent management of the garage I was using so I don't go there anymore if I can help it. When I've had work done by any of the reputable indies it's always been excellent & timely & cheaper.
My timing chain broke earlier this year (just when the good weather started), waited 9 weeks for it, had it back for 2 days and it was leaking copious amounts of oil from the front crankshaft seal. It went back 3 weeks ago, so I'm up to 12 weeks! Apparently, it should be ready this week (although I've heard that before!).
I've never driven it in warm weather!

Obviously shopping in the wrong place?I've never driven it in warm weather!
I thought I had the record but Jasper may have just pipped me to the post! My 2000 Tusc got clouted by a tree in Dec 2000....went legal with insurers and settled out of court in 2004. Car gone but then was able to buy it back in July 2006. Since then has been at repairers sorting remaining problems from original rebuild, just windscreen left to fit now...get it back nexy week and God I'm looking forward to it!!

i'm 5 weeks in to having my car repaired, and it looks like it will be a few more yet.
i was wondering who has been without their tvr longest due to a lengthy repair time, and what was being done to it?
