The two 'nuts' on the bottom of my adjustable shocks need to be pinched together to stop the bottom one working its way down the shock. As I've only got one C spanner and don't want to damage a nut by smacking it with a chisel or something can anyone tell me if there is a knack to pinching them together.

Believe it or not it just failed the MOT for this and (new) lower shock bolts which are level with the nyloc thread instead of proud of it rolleyes

I wouldn't lock them together because it makes life very difficult when you come to adjust ride height at a later date when they seize together.

Just nip up the lower lock ring with the C spanner and drop the car, I promise you once the car is under load you wont be able to move it.

Yeh, I put Gaz shocks on 18 months ago and just nipped the bottom rings and nothing's moved.
