Excuse my ignorance....

I assume most people don't stay over on the Sunday night - but rather set off for UK after the 3pm finish?

I have always stayed sunday night and go back on the monday making a lunch stop along the way to a late afternoon ferry. Usually still see alot of exotica on the N138.

Leaving at 3pm on the sunday is a bloody nightmare!!

For the first year ever, we are leaving on the Monday - we normally join the exodus at the finish of the race.

Tuesday is a good day. Really looking forward to using my transponder at the tolls this time.
Used it this weekend to go to testing. It works really well and will save loads of time.

I'm not a fan of the Sunday Night, there's such an anti-climatic atmosphere on most of the sites. We usually just take a few hours of pack up and get going around 7-8pm when the traffic has cleared.

You're right - it also means we can get pissed up on the Sunday...

I've just emailed our accomodation to try and stay the Sunday night too.

Stayed till Monday last 2 years and again this year. Sunday night is a great night, everyone chilled out and usually having the most fun. Sites are quieter so usually a few incidents!!!!

How do you get a transponder? I am back down to the alps in a few weeks too. And why will it save so much time? Cos you won't have to qeueue at each peage?

If you go back on Sunday, does that mean you don't drink from 5am?

It seemed like a lot more than that last year. Maybe even as high as 70 per cent left on Sunday evening. I know the lads I was staying with did.
