The ACO have decided to run all the cars this year with the same class lighting systems as they have in the ALMS for last few years. Therefore there are three round lights on both sides of each car.

LMP 1 Red Lights
LMP 2 Blue Lights
GT1 Green Lights
GT2 Yellow Lights

One light on for the class leader, two on for second, three on for third no lights and you are fourth position in class or lower. The lights only change when the cars pass the start / finish line so if for instance a car gets overtaken then it won't show this until the next lap.

Should make identifying what is going on much easier smile

Good idea! that'll come in handy. Here's hoping the Pugs have one or two on then!

It certainly confused us at the test day - they were clearly testing out the transponder signalling - one lap every car in GT1 was second according to the lights!!

They certainly make the live ALMS races easier to watch trackside - wonder why it took the ACO so long to catch on?

Great Idea, i've seen this on Tv before on the ALMS and I think also on the american Rolex Sports Cars, but didnt know the 'codes'.

I'll be sure to make a not of what they all mean before we leave.
