I keep a gallon of fuel in the boot just in case of emergencies, one of which cropped up when mowing the lawn at the weekend.

Topped the trusty flymo up with V Power, pulled the rope and the instant acceleration was terrific. Ride height is increased and as a result the handling is much sharper.

As I have one of the rare HC Pilot L47 I guess the performance is always going to be better than the standard models, plus the note on the over run when you have finished the lawn is great - the neighbours appreciated it.

May have to look at a Cherry Bomb conversion and stealth cam now for the ultimate high speed mowing experience.

Such was the increased power that most of it was moved vertically, to be spread for many meters around.

Spelling now corrected.

I only had V Power to top up the lawn mower when we moved and it did pop and bang a bit.

I put Tesco 99 in my Triumph Sprint yesterday and it doesn't run very cleanly at all and pops and bangs even more than usual with the sports exhaust. In the Chim it seems fine. V Power still seems the best all round though.

Bet its a yellow (ok, ok, orange) Flymo smile. Obviously THE fastest colour for lawn mowers. Would take you ages to cut the lawn if it was blue, red or silver rolleyes

hehe

Blue mowers are quite plainly the fastest!

It is actually grubby orange, however I do have some Imperial Blue touch up paint that I will be applying this weekend as speed stripes.

I thought I would also paint some of the engine parts purple as the considered opinion is that this adds about 30% to top end speed !

Thanks Al,

I was beginning to think the forum needed some frivolity.
