does anyone have a non 0870 number for Auto Protect? i'm abroad and need to call them.

they were due to inspect my car at the garage yesterday, but called beforehand to say they weren't turning up, and the (TVR approved policy with w&t clause) doesn't cover the top end rebuild caused by valve problems.

any other experiences with them for claims like this would be appreciated too.

Sorry to here of your troubles mate.

I am so sick of these warranties, everyone boycott them!! in their small print and I quote 'all mechanical and electrical components are included against mechanical breakdown' - but apparently exhausts, clutches, cats, bushes etc dont fall under mechanical....WTF! and now so it would seem are topend rebuilds - I feel for you mate I really do!

If a topend rebuild isn't either covered then there is 0 point in getting a warranty.

Make sure you ask for the report and an exact reason for not compensating which relates to the terms of their contract, then go to the financial ombudsman or trading standards, these people can't keep getting away with this. I am currently doing the same.

I tried finding the number for you but no joy only the 0870 number is available as far as i can tell.

Hope things work out

Hey TVR Centre/TVR Power - is this correct, we all need to know?

Jappo, i noticed in one of the other threads that you assume it's all covered.... as I did.

however, 'negotiations' are at a very early stage, but their opening gambit was that nothing to do with valves is covered. ie one of the main failures on s6 engines. as i say, they didn't even bother sending the engineer who was booked to look at it.

watch this thread to see how it develops...............

Bought mine through TVR Centre and before shelling out the money the example I acctually gave by way of finding out the sort of thing that would be covered was valve wear which, I pointed out, would not be regarded as mechanical failure by most Warranty providers. I was told in response and quite clearly that this was the reason I should go for the TVR Gold AutoProtect Warranty with W&T coverage.

Hope you're wrong - in the nicest possible way smile

I hope I'm wrong too!! I seem to be about most things (especially with 'er indoors), and I hope this is no exception!!

That sounds like exactly the same conversation I had when I bought it last August.
