front coilovers--where to get?

hi all together.

when i repaired my brakes today and watched the nice cortina front supsension it came in my mind that somebody told me about (heigt and ride)adjustable coilover shocks?

does anybody of you remeber from which suplier they come? are they a Tasmin-special or taken from another car?

Steve Heath is the only person I know of who supplied such an upgrade. Just had a look on his website but can't see any reference to it. Hopefully he will be along shortly to advice. It involves replacing the lower wishbone. Cheers Steve

i´ve also searched the web in da meanwhile and read several things about strengthening the wishbones and top-mount etc....

so its not that easy job i supsected....so maybe its better to buy some lower springs and use the standard layout.

the former owner already fitted some adjustable spax shocks, but its a nightmare to reach the adjsuting screw through the original spring.

Give Tower view a call - they has a coil over conversion at BBWF last year.

When I had spaxes I used to jack the wheel up and down so that the screwdriver could get in between the coils. But maybe you've already tried that....

the lower windings of the springs are so narrow togehter (nearly touch each other) that i cant get a screwdriver through.

if the adjustung screw would be 1inch higher, no problem...but i guess spax didnt thought about that issue as the screw is always located at same place for every type of damper, i guess.
