Due to pick up car next week and have been asked if I want the Fire Extinguisher fitted.

Have others had it fitted or do they get in the passengers way ?

Thanks

They get in the way if you have a passenger. Only time you actually need it is for a test day in Germany - or if youre on fire.

I have one in my GT2, I'd only recommend it if you enjoy your misses moaning everytime she gets in the car. smash

looking at it a different way. If you have a fire do you really want the car saved? If yes, then it maybe handy having. If not, then dont bother.

if your worried about a fire why not have a plummed in one with the main can hidden behind your seat out of the way. I have one fitted to my elise and over 2 years of trackdays only saw 3 or 4 fires but for the £300 odd quid it was peace of mind.

IMO - If you plan to track the car here and in Europe, then I would have it fitted. It could save your or another driver's life - especially at the 'ring. If the car is predominantly for road use then I wouldn't bother. I had mine fitted and it is a small hassle for passengers getting in and out - but no one's complained about it.

Fitting is a doddle - In the passenger side carpet are 2 removable cutouts where the mounting spacers need to go. Remove these and place the aluminium spacers in the holes, place the bracket on top of the spacers and bolt to the floor pan. If you have bought floor mats, you will have to cut 2 holes in the passenger side mat to accommodate the spacers. My OPC supplied me with just the drivers side mat because they "didn't know what to do with the passenger mat because of the extinguisher" - cheeky b*st*rds.

Enjoy the car - it IS awesome.
