Hi.... just wondering if anyone out there know how you get into your car once you have locked it with the remote key fob. Then when you want to get back into it you have a flat battery. I tryed getting into mine the other day after it had a MOT? and couldn't? but unknown to me the garage had locked it with the fob and then with the key in the barrel. (worked it out in the end) DOH!!!! Any how got me thinking???? How do you get into your Chim. if you have locked it with the remote fob.... and then come back from a trip away and the Battery is dead???? you can't? because if you try with the key in the barrel.... nothing happens???? Anyone else had this problem and found out a solution???? I would like to know how you got in.... Thanks.

Firstly it can be done. Secondly we don't discuss it on open forum

Later cars can only be unlocked electrically as they don't have lock barrels. And the battery being inaccessible when the car's locked up can cause a real problem. So I'd advise you fit yourself a static jump lead kit. This allows you to connect a booster battery enabling you to get inside again. If you are electrically minded, the kit is easy to create and fit but ready-made kits can be bought, eg. from Leven Technology. Click on 'TVR' then select 'Jump Start/Charge Leads' from the third drop-down range.

From this I'm guessing you have a pre 95 car that has the Calibra/Tigra boot locks wink just behind the doors. scratchchin
If so it involves turning and pressing the key at the same time in the lock, this actavates the alarm and locks/unlocks the doors without needing the plipper, the owners manual will describe exactly how to turn the key... wink
