When did they change from this style:

To "afterburner" style:

Or is this an after market part?

Thanks smile

They're not afterburners... they're just separate lights.

Circa P-reg IIRC...

There are all sorts of mixes around. I know of a S reg car with the later front end, wing mirror buttons, but earlier rear end...

All depends what was in the bin that day...

I went to the factory in March 98, and at that point both styles were coming off the line. (That'd be R reg)

Did the side repeaters change to clear at a specific year too, or are the clear ones after-market parts?

Thanks!

Mine too - May '98 and I also have the recessed rear number plate mounting with the lights above. Wonder if the lights and that were both changed at the same time.

Mines a 97 build registered 1st Jan 98. Mine has the old style lights and backlit plate.

In a previous topic I think we narrowed it down to February/March 98 that they changed over.

I think both happened at the same time (lights and recessed/top lit number plate).

I have never seen old lights with a recessed plate or new lights with a backlit plate.
