Our accomodation is with a family in Suburban Le Mans - I haven't checked re secure parking yet but I'm worried about leaving 2 flash looking 911's with british plates, should I be?

The area looks ok, lots of green and a swimming pool bext door. But on Google earth I can also see blocks of flat very close by.

The area is Rene Hatet 72100 Le Mans

We had the same problem last year, My M3 and my mates M coupe,In the end we decided to put small blocks of wood with nails sticking out of them behind the rear wheels, so if anyone did mannage to start them it would stop them making off £400 for a new set of rears V loseing your pride and joy? i Know it sounds silly but it give a little peace of mind when you have to leave them?

Were you parked on the street Mikey?
Did you have any problems with scratching, pinching badges etc?
Were you in Le Mans itself?

Sorry for the 100 questions - my pride and joy is a pristine Grand Prix White 993TT and it gets a LOT of attention, I'm scared.

I think you are worrying too much. This is a pleasant suburban area and the flats are private I believe there. The french being so polite I expect they'll ask you to park inside the drive and leave their cars outside anyway. As an aside I've done about 60,000 in an E type in Europe and it has been left all over the place and never touched. Yes, in certain areas here (The Sablons for example) I wouldn't leave a decent car but most places in Le Mans you'll be safe. Your only problem is that you are the wrong side of town for the circuit. Relax and enjoy!

Sorry buddy should have put that in,

Parked down the same street that has good lighting , and no problems what so ever both cars were fine the whole time we were their. But traffic is very very heavy when you try to get out and about.

Thanks Mikey - my nerves are slowly starting to calm.

Don't forget that lots more people in France live in flats than in the UK, and therefore flats in the area are unlikely to be a problem.

And then in the exitement of the event we drove over them and burst £800 worth of tyres. That is trully stupid in the day and age of cat 1 alarms.
