Just some "Food for thought"
Some top speeds from a few different V-Max events:

202 GuyR - Ruf GT2 (Rear wing taken off)**Nardo spec c630 BHP ** Vmax X
198 - 993 Ruf Rturbo (LeonS) & 996 Ruf RGT2 (drhildr) ** unknown spec
GuyR -Porsche Ruf GT2 - 197mph ** VMax IX
193 - Porsche 993TT RS Tuning (MOD500) ** unknown Vmax
190 Derestrictor - 993TT (Weltmeister timetravelspec) ** VMax X
187 - Porsche 993TT Fearns MS (derestrictor) ** unknown VMax
Adamt - RUF RTurbo - 187mph

V-Max Serene June 2006
184 Leon S - 993 RUF Turbo
183 r1_jon - GT2
183 derestrictor - 993TT Earl of Bolton Spec.
183 Dazren - 996TT X50 (Driven by Derestrictor)
183 MOD500 - 993TT RS Tuning

The 190 from Der's car was on 535 BHP & 570lb-ft from memory. The spec of Leons Ruf along with Martins look like they have both moved on since June 2006.

Leon + 14 mph
Martin + 10 mph
Derestrictor + 7 mph

Cannot find any for TB993TT though ?

All a bit of fun though ?

AKA ship car back to RUF, give nice man more money, enroute to VMAX stop off at petrol station selling 102 octance petrol at £4 a litre. hehe

I also seem to remember MOD having a certain penchant for stuffing octane booster into the fuel tank.

Yep, Daz is right, I added two cans of octane booster to Texaco SUL, plus revised front / rear spoilers (for reduced drag) and Secan intercooler to get increase in speed.

Will try and get some BP 102 if I get a spot next time, to see how that performs.

The most interesting thing to me is Daz's standard X-50 (if you can call an X-50 standard!!!) was pretty much as fast as all these highly modded cars on the 2006 run!

Bit of a sore spot this one.... wink

Did 193 with intercooler air intake temp lead off (don't ask !)

The ECU reverted to an intake temp of 52.5DegC
Power and torque would have been around 520hp/535lb/ft with the affect of the reduced timing and boost.

TBH with my extra wide arches and limited gearing on the wheel/tyre set up I had I don't think there was much more to come anyway.

From Memory DeR's was having all sorts of misfire problems from the fixed boost chassis dyno mapping not liking the full load runs on the runway ?

No problems at all on the day it ran 190 mph two up with Andy driving & Der in pass seat. Even I managed 188 in it, never having run at Brunters before.
Along the way in development it has had some small issues on overboost but not sure as the car is now with Andy at Fearnsport and may have had other alterations carried out since Nov 1995.

I may be a bit stupid here but what did Adamt's Yellowbird achieve?

Some great figures there by the way.

195, but I believe it has made more than 200 at Brunters.

Wasn't Leon's car running poorly at the earlier event? IIRC it also had some 'jungle juice' for the later event.

Daz's car has done higher than 183 as has my X50. Aero kit kills about 1-2 mph of the top speed of mine!

John, your GT2 will be losing out on top speed to the X50 through the speedtrap due to the far higher downforce generated by the GT2 rear wing.

I thought so. I keep meaning to try and adjust the rear wing, as I noticed all the GT2's at vmax are sloping forward whereas mine is pretty level.

Or I could 'do a Guy' and just take it off !!

Hi smile

I am hoping to do both Vmax events this year...

I am looking for a 200 plus speed...preferably 208 (to beat the Carrera Gt)

Or I might just go bang...but will be fun trying smile

It would be nice to see a 928 in that top list...

All the best Brett smile

Hi smile

Ugh.....I wont be able to run then....nor will a LOT of other cars...fezzers etc...

I thought after the court decision in favour of noise they would have dropped the really low restriction for VMAX at least frownfrownfrown

All the best Brett smile

When & if is the next V-max.

incidentally IMO the finishing speeds should be split three ways, standard cars, modified cars, overall!
