4. Kimi Raikkonen (Fin) Ferrari 1:17.515

6. Nico Rosberg (Ger) Williams-BMW 1:17.992
7. Rubens Barrichello (Bra) Honda 1:18.108

Rubens did well. Button was 13th (behind Sato!!).
Coulthard 11th. Davidson 15th.

I've not heard why Nakajima was in the Williams in FP1 instead of Rosberg yesterday yet, anyone know why?

isn't there talk of sebastian bourdais replacing him (spelling ? ) though seems unlikely as he's got zero time in F1

I think that's exactly what that was about. Here's a couple of grand off your engine bill, Frank, lets see what Nakajimas like.

However Bourdais would be a much more interesting proposition because he needs to get away from the disaster zone that Champ Car has become. Last race I saw one of the cars main sponsor was a BBQ shop and the driving standards were appalling. My opinion would be that a lot of BTCC guys would do a lot better than some of the muppets they've got driving at the moment. I reckon Tracy's going to spin his injury out as long as possible cos he must know the series is doomed.

I mean if him and Bourdais leave whose going to be the main attraction for an American series? Wilson? Legge? Doubtful. Real shame because a few years ago it was a brillant series with some amazing races. But without Indy, AGR, Penske and Gannasi what have you got?

According to Alonso he screwed up at "turn 10" (hairpin?) earlier in that sector so it was already lost.

I hope he's so far ahead at the first pit stops they wouldn't dare.... But what price a 'bodged' tyre stop for him allowing the Spaniard to win.... May be I'm being too paranoid....
