road fund licence costs?
Discussion
I must have fell asleep during the budget speach and missed the twisty bits!
My 997 2s is taxed until 02/08 at 190.00, the car was bought new/registerd 22/03/2006, I understand the tax will be 235/12 mnths next time, then upto 400/12 mnths at a later date(when I dont know). My 110 Defender also new but in July 2006 has just got its re-new through at 300/12 mnths, then I guess also at 400/12 months sometime next year. I think ive missed something here, I thought it was all going up at the same rate/time..is it a cock up?..Maybe its worh taxing the Landy for 6 mnths then for a full year before the rates go up. I suppose I am asking..
1, Why the different costs
2, When does the higher rate kick in
3, Why the difference in cost between the Defender and the 997, I thought they were both at the top of the"kill the earth" drive a Porsche/Landy tables?
Anyone know? Thanks...

I thought the new pricing was NOT retrospective and only applied to new cars ?
I think you will find that the banding is not retrospective, but the cost within each band is subject to the new price. Hence an 04 996 GT3 is not in the top band (having been made before it was introduced) despite producing loads of CO2 g/km, but the tax still went up a tenner or so.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
