997 GT3 RS front brake cooling
Discussion
Done a couple of track days in the RS now and have a problem with brakes (steels with standard pads) overheating. Advice from a couple of guys who run 996 GT3 Cup cars and a guy that runs a 996 GT3 RSR is to get some proper cooling directed at the front disks.
Does anyone know where I can get a ducting kit from?
Later I will change the disks/pads to Alcons/RS29s, but will still need/want to sort out the cooling problem first.

There is ample cooling there already, and i can't see you how you could possibly get anymore.Does anyone know where I can get a ducting kit from?

The original pads will not be as track focused as you may like, as they are designed for alround conditions, including
cold starts, and low noise etc.
a simple brake fluid change to SRF, and pads to RS29's will give you much better braking..
Do the discs when your standard ones are done, and then you have as good as it can get, steel wise..
I agree with Glenn on this - I have an RS with steels - I cooked the original pads and so changed to RS29's and SRF. I have just done two days at spa without problems.
If you take your original pads out you will probably find they have a very badly pitted surface where they are starting to break up.

You need RS29 pads - Yellows. Brake fluid should be fine but if you have cooked it, change it! When you change discs go for the Performance Friction disc. A slighlty larger disc will fit with the standard caliper. This combination is what you need.
PS. Can get you some ducting if you really want it, with the above combination you will be ok.
