I appreciate there are important events but the number has just become too much.

Pre sale PH was an absolutely fanastic website - the forum format was the best on the web - plain and simple. The wiki is agreat idea but some other other recent changes like the icons forhot topics are weak.

Ted, you and your team created the number 1 site on hitwise - the an unbelieveable achievement. Don't listen to the new techies that have come on board. You've done more than most websites can every dream of.

All the Sticky threads at the moment are current and acceptable IMHO.

It's primarily PetrolTed and a couple of us other mods that make the threads a sticky. I've been moderating for well over 3 years now and fortunately I can see no change is the current running of the site.

They were PetrolTeds rules and they are still in force.

As the saying goes if it ain't broke...etc. and IMHO it ain't broke! smile

I've been on here nearly four years now, and, while I agree that there are a fair number of stickies at the moment, I can't see any that aren't warrented. And no, I'm neither a mod or wannabe.

Just my 2p

Except that two are adverts...

Apart from that surely the number and nature of stickies is a testament to the popularity and success of the site.

Crikey - five stickies? I should write to your MP if I were you.

I don't think it's fair to blame the 'Haymarket-Effect' for the presence of stickies - there's just a lot going on and the TVR board is continously expanding.

I think we can all just about wade through the stickies...

Shall I make this topic sticky? biggrin

Part of the glut is because we have to wait for event topics to go out of date before un-stickying, but we do keep and eye on them. It is really just coincidence that there's a lot at the moment - mainly because the TVR section is the most lively and active in terms of meets, events etc. So basically it's all your fault for being so bloody friendly and gregarious! hehe

Ted's dead, baby. Ted's dead.

(Well, not running the site on a day-to-day basis anyway, but that doesn't sound as good.)

So now we know who to blame for all the "Romans go home" slogans on the walls. wink
