Looking for advice please - soon to be undertaking a week's driving holiday in France (after Le Mans!). It will be hard and fast (but legal, of course) and the car must be fed with 99 ron (Tesco 99 or Shell V-max recommended) - 95 in emergencies only and at the owners risk.

Have searched the various motoring association web-sites but can find nothing definitive about what is available there. Anyone out there with experience of finding 99 ron (or equivalent) in France?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Leslie - generally, I have found a lot of the main autoroute petrol stations stock 99/V Power, but one other option - take some bottles of Millers Octane Plus which per the label on the bottle, adds app 2 RON to any purchase. I used to positive effect in Scotland where there were some stations with only 95.

Sounds like a good plan. Will save space in the (diminutive) boot for it - I don't need too many pairs of shoes for a driving holiday after all! Thanks Craig.

Lots of 99 everywhere now since Super (4* was done away with) because there are a lot of ancient motors over here so it's a big seller!

Shell in France do 99 V-Power or at least they did last year as that is what the Lambo was fed on two different trips. Total also do their Excelium which is the good stuff.

Most places seem to stock 98 RON and a few do 99.
