EVOMS 996TT - 9.67@149.86mph!!!
Discussion
Thought it deserved to be posted here as it is a first. EVOMS just broke into the 9's with their GT800 996TT. Absolutely INSANE.

150 MPH terminal equals around 750 BHP.
A "rule of thumb" is 400 BHP = 112 to 115 MPH. For every 10 MPH over this you require another 100 BHP.
The drag racers tend to use this unproven formula but it seems to pan out. Search around t'internet on Terminals vs BHP

Wow - impressive stuff.
I used to run a 275hp turbo MX-5 - it was scary fast as they weigh only a tonne. I mention this as some nutter with a 2.0 stroker MX-5 in the 'States recently also broke into the 9s. A teensy bit "slower" than the above at 9.78 @ 153MPH but there you go...

(I'm allowed to mention this as the same page also has a link to a 883HP 2bar 993TT that runs 9.9!)
Now I'm a huge Porsche fan but can I have a 616HP MX-5 *as well* please?!

Shame about the video though...http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?...
Hi
Its not exactly a road car though...and they deliberately broke NHRA rules to do that run in those cool conditions...thats why no time slip and slung out of the track.....
The point I am making here is...IF they had obeyed the rules they would not have run that time....still a fast time but obeying rules would probably have kept them in the 10s...and they KNEW that
All the best Brett

I think all they were missing was a driveshaft loop, parachute, and NHRA license. I don't see how the addition of any of these would cause them to run slower.

9.67 is still a 9.67. Fast car, but you're right - the rumours have it that it weighs around 2800lbs...
Anyway, there should be a full-weight street-driven 996TT in the 9's by weekend end.
