......for those that have to deal with OPC's....

Here's the story....

Export company notifies OPC seven days before collection that I will be collecting a 964 for transport to docks....

I leave three messages during an eight hour period two days before collection date for contact name given to ring me back....nothing.

Ring 09:00 following day, receptionist transfers call to my contact and just lets phone ring (as previous day) -I then have to ring back in order to leave another message with the receptionist.....ring again at 09.15, asking to talk to dealer principal....phone just rings......

Ring export company to explain problem. He rings OPC, within five mins contact name has rung back, claiming he did not receive original messages.....OK, I say, I will be there tomorrow lunchtime to collect car.

Arrive following day....my contact explains that IF A NAME IS NOT ON THE DATABASE, THE RECEPTIONIST DOES NOT FORWARD THE MESSAGE!!!!!!

His colleague can't find car in pound......that's coz it is buried behind a Boxster and, of course, the battery is totally flat......car is dirty and direct hit by a coupla birds noted.....because it's been flat for so long car won't tick over, so immediately dies after they disconnect the battery pack. Fit mine and leave in boot.....

Deliver to docks, car now ticking over just fine......doh!!!

Just SO glad I don't have to deal with these guys regularly!!

And I HAVE told them what I think of their 'service'.......

It's a bit unfair to generalise.

Many people have good experiences with OPCs, and many OPCs work hard to provide a good service.

Like most businesses some are better/worse than others, some make mistakes and some employ numptys.

Of course it's bad when things go wrong that shouldn't, but in my experience of my OPCs, they are great to deal with (mind you so they should be at their prices).

I've had a great experience buying new from Solihull OPC and Chiswick OPC - if only the same could be said for the UK's largest Aston dealer...

I have dealt with one awful OPC and one decent OPC. Both of their service departments struggled in the simple art of returning calls.

had mine in diagnostic stuff at an OPC, transported it back to my indie for the work (as Im a tight arse)...got a phone call 5 hours later explaining how sorry the OPC were but they'd forgotten to re-attach a rather largepiece of my car, they delivered it to my house (not to the indie) after hours coz one of the sales guys lived near me, along with a box of bolts!!!

I was gob smacked!!!
