Anyone know the std gearbox ratios?

I found this:

1st Gear Ratio 2.95 :1
2nd Gear Ratio 1.94 :1
3rd Gear 1.41 :1
4th Gear 1 :1
5th Gear 0.8 :1

Is that right? or even close? Seems to tally quite close with what I think my roadspeeds are in a gearing calculator I've downloaded.

Yes, I'm looking at diff ratios...

Information I received from the factory:-

Standard Gearbox
2.95:1
1.95:1
1.34:1
1:1
0.8:1

Close Ratio Gearbox
2.43:1
1.56:1
1.24:1
1:1
0.8:1

Cars without a CR box have 3.46:1 Final Drive.

Cars with a CR have 3.73:1 Final Drive.

Not all close ratio cars have a 3.73 diff as standard, mine has a close box and 3.46 diff, that I'm looking to change. you'll have to look and see what you've got fitted.

Be brave Niel, try a 3,91 - you'll think someone gave you an extra 50 horses in with the ratio swap.

Have to say it doesn't look like it would go anywhere fast with that young lady sat on the front. wink

3.91 I'll give that a go! Any idea the best place to pick one up.

The lady on the front, I wish. Someone wanted a Sag for a photo shoot about a month ago. I went along and had a great time. Some more pictures here www.candyrun.tv/newgallery/index.tml

You need to think about the whole fitting process. Do you get a complete Diff unit, or just replace the CW&P. Needs some bench work and ideally change the diff bushes while you're in there. Speak with your local indie/dealer. Our diff type is quite common and they should be able to source the components.

Get someone to do a CWP swap. The old diff is close to worthless, I did some somes and reckoned a CWP sawp was something like £1200 cheaper than a new diff.

Forgot to mention - I'm booked in for a 3.91 ratio CW&P later next month (their lead time, my travel and vacation gets in way before then). Will report back when its done.

The place I'm using is swapping my CW&P in my current diff and replacing the barious seals, bushes and fluids that are needed. Estimated 5 hours work all in.
