just got the chim back from getting shocks done, drives like a peach, preparing for Le mans and Sods Law.... filled the screen wash and it has all p*****d out of the botton of the area under the radiator, its a hole in the glass fibre body work that feels ready made with a light thread. Nothing in the bible and I'm wondering if a screw has come out. I'm leaving for LM Monday early so only have tomorrow to sort it out. All advice gratefully received! I may resort to chewing gum!!

Ok after some investigation I have discvered that hole is actually a drainage hole, the problem is a pipe that leads from the screen wash filling point to the main reservoir and there is a split in the pipe causing any excess water to flow away. Only way in is the grill and I hate taking the grill off, any advice?

On mine the filler is just bit of pipe the sits in the neck of the washer bottle, but it's not sealed.
When i fill mine up, the only way i know it's full is when it starts running out underneath. smile

I just use a flat blade screwdriver to lever the mesh out once started should pull out easily.
To put back in leave rubber on body and push one corner of mesh in to start and lever bit by bit to finish.
Not that hard to do maybe some fairy might helpbiggrin

Your car is the later model, you have a cross member where your number plate is attached and no grille. The earlier models don't have this cross member but have a mesh grille (to stop stones and birds flying into the radiator smile) and the number plate is attached to the grille.

To get to the washer bottle, REMOVE THE NUMBER PLATE then, as above, use a flat blade screwdriver and carefully lever out the nearside of the grille, and slide the whole thing to the right until you have enough room to get to the washer bottle.
I cover the bodywork, where the grille will touch, with masking tape to prevent scratches, before i slide wink

I had mesh but swapped it for a stainless steel one that doesnt have the flexibility of the mesh and this close to leaving im scared to take it off in case I cant get it back on. Wonder if its ok to leave the tube where it is at the mo and trust to rainex and the wipers?
Thanks for your help tho chaps.

Do you mean the 6mm o/d tube from the wash pump to the washer jets ??
If so take a bottle of water and a suitable cloth and clean it buy hand from time to time. smile

no, it was before I had it done!

The tube is from the area under the bonnet where you fill the reservoir and I just hope it leaves enough liquid to allow my wipers to work.

I filled my washer bottle up when I first got the chim, water all over the floor. Havent had to fill it up again since then. Discovered very quickly that squirting water on the windscreen and using the chim wipers always made things worse. I just keep a pack of screen cleaners in hand and stop and wipe if I need to.
