Please can anyone shed some light on this?
When my mate accelerates his 944S through a corner, he feels a little vibration in the steering. It only seems to happen on a left turn. The cars been checked over, wheel bearings adjusted, and just had new tyres.
We can't think what it can be, any ideas anyone?

I have a similar thing with my 944turbo. When negotiating sharp bends at a decent lick, instead of the back sliding out, it tends to dig in, which seems like a vibration through the back end rather than the steering.

Everything has been checked out, and the conclusion is that it's due to the limited slip diff and michelin pilot tyres, instead of sliding out, it's trying not to slip and slide which manifests itself in what seems to be a vibration....sounds odd, but everything has been checked and checked again.

Has the 944s a lsd?

I've now driven his 944 just to get an idea what it does.
It actually happens at very low speed and turning left or right, and only when the wheel is turned a reasonable amount as if its a 90 degree turning. You just feel a small amount of movement through the stering wheel. It certainly doesn't feel like anything major but it's quite annoying for him.

Check the offside engine mount if it is worn then steering shaft could be touching the exhaust manifold and cause a slight vibration.
