PistonHeads PMR channel ?

Folks

We're giving those PMR radio things a chance this year, I know the range is shocking but should hopefully reduce the mammoth phone bills we had last year for simpy phoning between cars.

Is there a generic PistonHeads PMR channel for Thursday AM chatter, BiB warnings etc, and for a natter whilst stick in traffic around Rouen (it's inevitable!)

Between cars we;re going to be on a sub channel... but will the main channels be too biusy to pick one ?

I was thinking the same thing, particularly for speed traps. The range on the radios isn't far so if you hear someone shouting about a radar site or something then you know to slow down.

Anybody decided on one? Not sure if we can pick it up as our radios are American and work on the same frequency that the french police use.

The american ones will not pick up uk sourced radios? Interesting may take one of my american ones to see if I can get the french bib

why not just say we'll use ch.7
its generally regarded as a lucky number so maybe we'll be lucky and hear each others 'le gendarme' warnings.

Yeah thats what I gathered. They use different frequencies and the yank ones happen to be the same that the coppers use. Both English and French apparently. I didn't hear anything last year and managed to pick up some english people.

Weve used 8.30 before but i will make sure we use 7.0. its not a bad idea because most people can respond that way!
