Can he win his first F1 race in Canada and in his first year of F1, I hope he can, and good luck to him.
If he can't win it at the Canadin Grand Prix then I don't think it will be long before he does win one.

I think he will have the pace to win today. However, even the greats have put it into the wall at Montreal.

I hope he does win though!

Look, I bet even Lewis is getting fed up of this, if he wins, yay, great, but lets let them race and see what happens...

It's like groomi said, it's if he can keep away from that wall, even Shuy has hit that, and this is the first time Hamilton has been to this track.
Lauder just said that they expected mistakes from Hamilton and they have not happened, I really hope they don't today and that he can pull a win off.

He was very, very good indeed. 4 safety cars, no loss of concentration from LH (surely the big enemy at this ciruit) and he made Alonso and Kimi look terrible.

I think Hamilton will win the championship.

Would be great if he did.

Alonso made to look very second class today by hamilton and esp by sato. I've never cheered so much seeing a back marker car pass the current world champ. LOL

Someone owes me a tenner.... 3 races ago, I said the moment he wins a race, the next thing you will hear every race is "Lewis can win the championship now"...

Silverstone could end up being worse than 92 with Mansell frown

Well he is leading the championship, so it's not exactly out of the question now is it?!

I think Lewis can win the title, i dont think Ron Dennis would have put him in an F1 car unless he was ready to make history. Lets face it how controversial would it be for a rookie to come into the world championship and have the chance for a shot at the title! It would be excellent publicity for Mclaren and their sponsors if this is the case. I dont think RD really cares that Alonso is the current world champ, all he has to do is make sure he supplies two perfect cars for the both of them and let the drivers do the talking.

He's put enough other 'losers' in his cars peviously, so Hamilton wasnt that mucch of a gamble. Even if he'd finished 5th every race and had one podium the British press would be all over him...

Not really in Nostradamus' league though. I mean, plenty of people were saying he could win the championship a couple of races before he actually won a race. Hell, he was even leading it two races ago!

Does your crystal ball predict who will be the next Prime Minister?

Yeah, but come on, give the guy a break - let him race, we're only 1/2 way through the season... why do we have to hype him up all the time rather than just letting him drive?

I know someone is going to flame me for this...but it is an honest Q.

As good as LH is, and he is bloody good, would a rookie have been able to do this in years past? What I am asking is are these cars too easy to drive these days (relative to the skills of a pro driver) or is he just a one off special that only come around every so often?
