Evans Halshaw in Crownhill, Milton Keynes
Discussion
Hi
Has anyone tried this dealer? 2 days after buying my CV8 I discovered it has warped front discs so I booked it in here to be fixed, that was last Tuesday. I called yesterday and they still haven't fixed it because they cannot work out if the discs are under warranty and are "waiting to hear back from technical". The original garage I bought it from (a Network Q but not a Monaro dealer) have said they will pay for the work either way and instructed Evans Halshaw to just do it.
I've called them loads of times but they are either engaged or put me on hold for 20 minutes at a time. In short, they are crap & this is the first and last time I will use them.
Can anyone recommend a good dealer in the Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes area?
Cheers.

I think this is a problem with Evans Halshaw across the country - a chain (was Reg Vardy?) that could not give a toss about anything apart from making as much money with the least work possible.
Maybe they pay thier staff peanuts????
On general servicing you could use monkfish - I sure you can read customer response on here - they are just outside Milton Keynes - doesn't help you with warrenty work - but then nor does Evans Halshaw.
And yes I do have an axe to grind -their branch in M'bro - been trying to get the door handles/paint work/ headlight sorted under warranty for 15 months now (they admit some is warranty) and they promise phone call/ sorting it out/dealer principle involved/don't worry sir etc etc............nowt........useless tw**s

If I get it back in time it's due for a visit to Monkfish on friday for an exhaust and remap so I'll talk to them then. I cannot believe the rude/indifferent/arrogant attitude of Evans Halshaw, they have a flash show room but they just ignore you when you walk in and treat you like you're stuck to the bottom of their shoe.
This being my first ever Vauxhall I could assume this has something to do with the brand but the dealer I bought the car from, Lisles of Hitchin are absolutely brilliant. They have made loads of calls on my behalf and agree with my conclusion that Evans Halshaw are staffed by useless tossers.

Picadors are the complete opposite although a little far from you down in Southampton.
Some dealers do try and bluff there way through with the Monaro (as my local dealer did) but the ones that deal with them all the time like Picadors and Greens are very good. Monkfish are also very good for a non vauxhall dealer.

Unfortunately yes.
They are 1.5 Miles down the road and it’s where I brought my CV8 from. And we experience there appalling customer service from the start when my wife tried to get a test drive. Not returning calls and making you feel like you’re a nuisance rather than a customer is just some of the areas in which they excel. (Do Vauxhall have special training courses for this?) Michael, who I think is the senior customer service rep (I was once lead to believe he was the service manage but that’s another story), does try his best but I think he is fighting an up hill battle against an ethos that put short term profits above customer care.
As for their ability to service a Monaro, well after they took over a month to fix a door seal leak I then had to return it a further twice for them to fix the things they broke, including wiring the TC and Fog switches the wrong way round and tearing the gear gator! I now wouldn’t let them any where near my car for mechanical work. So thank goodness for Roger at Monkfish. But that is just my experience.
I had the same but thanks to Greens' brilliant service it was turned around in 2 days with new discs last week. Looks like incompetence rather than parts shortage.
p.s. if they've had it and been doing nothing then I would take a close look at the odometer for unauthorized use.

Argh don't say that, I've only owned the car for 2 days and I got it as a replacement for a Alfa 159 I rejected because it kept going wrong! If it's damaged in any way I'll go fu**ing nuts!

Del, thanks for the offer. Some bloke called Vince called me today to assure me the parts had been ordered and would be fitted to the car as soon as they come in. I work very close to them so I might pay them a visit tomorrow and inspect the car at the same time. I might take a lump of wood with me just incase.
As soon as I get the car back I'll ask Monkfish or Motorbodies to look after it.

Got it back finally! Brakes replaced and other bits and pieces done under warranty. To my relief nothing seems wrong with it so I'm not that cross anymore. I'm just delighted to get it back as it goes to monkfish tomorrow for the exhausts. YEEEEEEEEAAYYYYYYYY!!!
Roger did mine a few months back. Never turned on the CD/Radio since......
Enjoy
