decat pipes?

I've just got some from TVR Car Parts. They went on on Thurs pm. The car is certainly louder - and at some revs the exhaust is almost shrill which is not the best so I need to see what to do about that as its not what I wanted - the shrillness I mean - its almost a resonance as it does come on very loud at those revs. I've been away over the weekend so haven't had much of a chance to play with it since a 3 mile drive home from friends house (he has a good jack which made the fitment that much quicker). The decat pipes seemed to be fine and are the same gauge as far as I could see as the main s/steel exhaust so I doubt that's the issue; maybe I need to play with the mountings and see if it helps to slack it off a bit or something?
Anyone any ideas/similar experience?

Surprised the exhaust sounds 'Shrill' I have a de-catted S3c with with a s/s systym and which sounds superb , the bore is about 12cm's , maybe yours is a similar size to the original systym ?

I put some TVR Car Parts De-Cat pipes on my S3c a couple of weeks ago. They are fine, and matched up to the existing well. The car is slightly louder but in a nice way

I've had a good fiddle with the rear exhaust mount this morning. It has always been a bit of a pain as I can't seem to get the exhaust lined up and not banging on the chassis with all the other mounts in the right place - even after loosening off the front and trying to swing it; result the rear hanger is always slightly off to one side which tends to mean that the mounting plate between the 2 rear pipes cuts its way through the male bit (ouch!!) of the mounting rubber. Anyway some careful fiddling around and its still very loud when accelerating but now not as shrill although it does come on strong at 3.5k revs. I could do with finding a better mounting method at the rear so I could stop this problem - anyone else had any brainwaves re this or is the solution to undo everything and really start from scratch again?? (Thinks - we did give this a good go earlier this year and it helped in terms of not banging on the chassis but it still sits to one side a bit and the rear mount is to one side and that was after trying to twist the centre straps a bit to help it ...)

Cheers guys, I have ordered the pipes from TVRCARPARTS today, I will let you know what I think when I get them in a couple of weeks! Was hoping they would have them in stock so I could make some noise this w-end, will annoy the neighborhood soon enough!!

I reckon any new system will sound slightly tinny until its got some soot and crap in there to quieten the upper frequencies down a bit.
