i was in a red gtm rossa mostly following a tvr (390 maybe - not too sure)

I was there, mostly following a red GTM Rossa (well, at the start anyway). I was in a silver Caterham...

did the Caterham have a stipe by any chance?

I did this last year and was very disapointed with the kit car turnout especially for £75!!!

It did indeedy! It was one of the special editions to celebrate 50 years of the Seven. I borrowed it from Caterham for the run, so there will be some pics from the event in the next issue of Complete Kit Car.
