Lunch Stop on N138 around Bernay

Our group are on the 7am SpeedFerries ferry to Boulogne. As we will be missing on the usual P&O fry up we are thinking of stopping somewhere nice for lunch (not the usual golden arches which is not ideal but usually the only thing we can find quickly).
I've worked out that around 12pm we will be in the region of Bernay on the N138 (assuming we don't go OTT with the speed).
Does anyone know somewhere nice to stop? I've found this list of restaurants etc. http://www.ville-bernay27.fr/pages_visiteurs/resta... Any more suggestions?

I've been along this route a number of times but can't quite picture the actual town... there are a few you go through along the N138 and we have probably stopped somewhere around here before, maybe for fuel. I'm just trying to find somewhere nice to eat that isn't a McDonalds or a Lidl like we did one year and bought some stuff to make lunch!

sorry mate, can't remember the name, I think one was / is a propper restaurant and the other is more like a coffeshop type cafe. Me and my daughter went into the coffeeshope type one...had a great meal with chatted for ages with friendly locals, and the chef even had his photo taken with the TVR...nice people and great food.

Not sure all I can recall is that you drive right into the centre of Bernay, (it's all a bit fuzzy, the previous year we stayed in an Auberge type bar overnight...that all got a bit silly with the locals and their homebrew vino)Do you remember if it was on the N138 or down a street? just as the main street narrows, (shops on either side) you pass a tabac on your right (remember getting some ciggies)and the kebab cafe is on your left. There are two streets running sort of parallel in the middle of the ville, you can't go wrong, it is a small place. I think you rejoin the 138 at the end of the main street at a sharp y junction, you pass a small garage just as you rejoin. I'd follow Bernay (centre Ville).

I'll suggest it to the others in my convoy and we'll make a decission. I'm sure there are a number of places in Bernay to stop. I just wanted to have a place in mind when we get there as in the past we have attempted to stop and look for somewhere to eat and after wandering around for a while we normally find we have left it too late for lunch and have to carry on hungry
