Hayfever In Les Mans?

Hi all,

I've just joined here and would firstly like to say a hello to one and all.

I'm going to Les Mans for the first time this year and am just curious if there are any fellow hay fever suffer's that would have an insight as to the situation in Les Mans. Whenever I go to Spain, Turkey, Greece etc I don't seem to suffer as I'm guessing there is either a low pollen count or indeed a different type of pollen that I remain unaffected by. I'm kind of hoping that Les Mans will be the same situation and indeed be free of hay fever, as it really is the sour point of the great British summer! Any help on this situation is greatly appreciated!

Yes, it's bad !! dry dusty fields are a bastard. Take plent of tissues, eye drops, tablets etc.
The best cure is to drink and forget about it.

Hi,

I depends on what kinds of pollen you're allergic to. The campsites are on grassy meadows, and if it's dry there's a lot of dust in the air too...wear your sun glasses and take your medication...

The first year I went it was terrible - hadn't suffered in the UK that much, but when I got there I was really bad all weekend.

Take plenty of tablets, nasal spray and what ever else you might need!

EEK! Oh well it is as I feared. Never mind, as advised I shall go out there so stocked up on antihistamines and nasal sprays that a blocked nose and itchy eyes will be the last of my concerns!

Yeah I suffer really bad over there. I can normally resist the urge to rub my eye but when you're plastered you forget, and one little touch is all it needs to get stuck in.

A little trick I have learned is to water your eye out and then just pull your mattress out of your tent, lye on your front and push the effected eye into the pillow and just fall asleep. But I wouldn't recommend it if you have friends that like to do borderline-gay stuff to you while you are passed out...

I suffer from hayfever over here quite a lot, but i find when i hit French soil it clears up...or that i just don't notice it being stoned as a

It sounds as though there is some hope then. Nonetheless I shall take all the usual medication with me and just hope for the best, battered on beer sounds a good enough cure anyhow.

Mr seasider may I ask what your super strength antihistamines are? And also where they are available (I’m guessing doc's)?

Fexofenadine but probably the same as all the others

I'm on the 180mg tablets ... and Contact ... and some herbal pils, er, two types actually, and eye drops and even resorted to utterly ghastly green leaf tea and lying with camomile tea bags on me eyes (I read it somewhere!) ... and my right eye was still closed up and stuck together on Sunday morning.

I don't suffer in Spain but if Le Mans is bad then I will be in a sorry state

I really think you need to worry about the other things more than the Hayfever

Agony for me! Piriton seems to stop everything bar itchy eyes so I'll try some drops for that and keep everything crossed!
