I bought a Chimaera at the weekend, after driving it al saturday, i gave it a wash and asi was lighlty washing the back screen, the stitching just came away. It has rotted in one corner.

I reckon it is like this in most places on the screen but not going to push on it to find out. Its been patched for the moment, but i need to get it fixed soon.

I have searched by the way and only found places in yorkshire or by the coast.

Does anyone know if any places that can re-stitch the screen back in? in the Farnham, Fleet, Guildford, Basingstoke area??

I might consider doing it myself as i read a post on here that someone bought sailing thread and needle and sat at the kitchen table for the next 8 hours re-stitching it by hand.

There is a company in Andover called The Family Repair Service (tel 01264 323144). No web address, or email - good old family business. They come highly recommended for car interiors, private planes, boats and so on. I have no personal experience other than having spoken to them about some seat repairs to another car (I sold it instead due to other problems) - they seemed very capable.

I don't know about TVRs but it may be worth a call.

Ill give those ago.

It probably only needs stitching in a few places after closer inspection.
