Hi,

My started motor has been on it's way out for a while and now it seems to have packed in!

Can anyone recommend a good place to start looking for a starter motor. I've googled 'M78R' (lucas) and 'RTC6061N' and the best site (there are many!!) seems to be this one :

Any help or recommendations would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Neil.

The later gear reduction type starters are quite popular, many of us fitted Prestolite versions ~ but dont see too many around now..

The Denso one they list would last longer, how often do Japanese starters fail(not often)Denso serve Honda,Toyota,Nissan to name a few, make Bosch & Lucas seem like toys, and no i dont work for em just my cents worth.

Just though that I would tidy up my topic ... just in case anyone uses it on the "search" pages.

Bought the Denso starter motor from here http://www.brookwell.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_RTC606... which was slightly more expensive at £75 plus VAT and P&P (£98 all in).

Just had it fitted and I'm really please with it, car starts extremely quickly!

Cheers
Neil.
