Strange "moan"...
Discussion
I've not been able to work out exactly what causes this, but I get a faint, low, "moan" from the Cerb from time to time... thought it was the clutch being let out at first, but heard it a couple of times at low revs, in car parks etc... wondering if its the p/s?
Do have a purple pipe which just wont stay fixed on, so also randomly thought it may be "reverb" from that as air is sucked in...?
Anyone had anything similar? Might of course be an undocumented feature, but thought it best to air on the side of caution

I very occasionally get similar symptoms Phil - power steering. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. Do have a purple pipe which just wont stay fixed on, so also randomly thought it may be "reverb" from that as air is sucked in...

RESOLUTION - came across a rather random one, but, mentioned in a thread buried in the archives...
Top up the oil.
Yep... strange I know, but it's fixed the problem. Wasn't out - just on the minimum. Was just about due for a top up, so thought I'd do it early to test, and Willaim's your father's brother.

Always keep cerb oil topped up to max. Check VERY regularly. Oil at min isnt a good place to be. Maybe your car is eating too much oil?
Yep - always keep up to the MAX - the dipstick should really have only one mark on it, reading 'oil level' or something. The trouble with two marks is that it gives rise to the old "I'll top that up later" syndrome and I suspect many cerbs are suffering due to not enough oil!
