Photographers !

So who's going, what gear you taking and where are you planning to be ?

I'm hoping to get a few at Tetre Rouge, Karting Nord and Indianopolis this year, need a few new angles from previous years.

I'm even packing a small set of steps in the car this year

I have managed to wangle a Le Mans press accreditation this year so assuming I can collect it okay I should get full access to wherever I want to take photos including the other side of the fence

Canon 20D with 100-400mm ISM lens, also have a 28-55mm (i think) for close up stuff. Bought a monopod which I will attempt to use this year.

I'll be taking my 350D and not much else. Maybe a tripod for some night photos but I've never had much luck before.
Need a telephoto to get the best shots but haven't been able to invest in one yet.

Hope to be able to get some good photos though.

I'll be there (though don't class myself as a photographer as such!). Unfortunately only with the 17-85 IS as I've not yet invested in anything longer (strapped to 30D).

Nigel; got your exige photo earlier, it looks fantastic, loved the idea, tried replying but couldn't as the e-mail no longer works that it came from?!

Anyhow I'll be seeing you chaps there I'm sure! EdHasler and I are planning on taking a walk or two around the track for some decent spots

Nearly there! 1st photos will be taken at Thursdays qualifying sessions!

Will mainly be using Nikon D50 (managed to resist upgrading to D200/D2X this year), Sigma 100-300 f4 and 1.4 TC... Have remembered to pack the flash as well this year for some sharp (hopefully) night photos...

Will try and take a lot more pics than last year on the hope of getting some half decent ones at each location...

Will be there with the 30D purchased on Friday with a few lenses up to 300 & a tripod. Want to catch the sunrise over dunlop bridge (any idea of what time)!

I have exactly the same thoughts! Sunrise HERE at the moment is 0442 and so you don't want to get there much after 0400

I'm going radical this year - D70 with 50mm f1.4 prime, a 10.5 DX fisheye and a decent tripod are the only things I'm taking. Going for some wide shots with streaming head / tail lights and some unusual photos of the pit straight, etc.

A friend is bringing his camera with the big lenses so I see no point lugging mine around too.

Be sure to keep it safe then. I'd hate to think that you might leave it lying about and "somebody" borrows it for a few hours :wink: :wink: :nudge: :nudge:

I'll be taking Nikon D70 with Sigma 18-200mm lens + monopod to try and get some night shots...

I've invested £50 in a small Kodak digital camera for this year, as for the past couple of years I have taken my D70 and a couple of lenses but ended up leaving them in the car whenever we went anywhere, so hopefully I'll get some pictures this time around.

I'm imagining 100metres forward of the dunlop bridge looking back at the chicane, but don't know if it makes a good sunset shot or not.

I'll have a drive round on my go-ped on wed-fri nights to see what looks good.

Shady - I'll come over to the Race/What Race people at some opint to say hi so we can arrange a rendez-vous then?

Assuming I can blag my way past NOT actually having a press card I could be persuaded to accidently leave my tabard lying around for 1/2 hour

I'll be taking my new Pentax K100D with a 22-55mm kit lens and a Sigma 70-300mm zoom, plus a tripod, a few gig of SD cards and a lot of spare batteries

I'm an LM virgin and really looking forward to it now!

How about an early morning dunlop meet??? Will try to make it.

Took my new 30D + 17-85 last year- only had it a week before but some pretty good shots. Got a 70-200 this time so hopefully will hide that fence a little more.

re monopods- do people reckon it's worth getting one? I'm thinking about it. Any recommendations?

definitely aids the heavier lenses and panning shots
