Tamoras - Is anyone buying them??

I know there are a number of PH members (is that the right word) who run Tamoras, but you hardly ever see one on the road.
Also I know my local dealer is taking ages to shift his demonstrators.
By rights the Tamora is the spiritual succesor to the Griff and the Chimp so should be selling like hot cakes.... shouldn't it?? Or is this just my perception

Funny you should say that. I thought exactly the same thing when going around the factory at the weekend. Not so many Tamoras to be seen there compared to the T350Cs and Tuscans. They are a very fine car though, and dare I say it, have some practical advantages over other models - as well as being fantastic to drive.

Truth is, visitors to the factory say that it's all T350's and Tuscans in production - no Tamoras to be seen anywhere. Do I care? NO!! I need rag top motoring!
I've never seen another one on the road, though. But, I rarely see any TVR's on the road - they are rare beasts. I've seen perhaps 5 TVR's in S. Yorks. in the past 6 months, and it would be great to see another Tamora in motion. But mine is the only one in S. Yorks, I believe (unless YOU know different....)

There were a couple of Tamoras at various build stages, and the odd Cerbera and one Chimaera, in the factory on Sunday. So someone is putting their money down...
They are certainly fine looking cars, and despite all the attention on the T350 at the moment, I would go for the rag top every time!
Could be that they're destined to be the exclusive model of their time???
...oh, and they're far too refined and (relatively) conservative to be spiritual successor to the Griff
Edited to say that I regularly see a nice blue one in the Farnborough/Camberley/Sandhurst area, but then we're TVRCity round here!

Just like Nubbin I don't really care that other people are not buying Tamoras.
It just makes ours more exclusive when we turn up at Meets.
In the 16 months of ownership I've only come across 2 on the road, both recently!
Driving the Tamora is superb and being able to take the roof off is what it's all about!

On the Southampton run to Goodwood a couple of weeks back we had 2 turn up. Dicky was behind me on the second leg and I tell you, I spent alomst as much time googling in the mirrors as I did looking forwards.

I bought one too and love it ... who cares about spiritual successors, all I know is when you put your foot down the back wheels spin, and you can take the roof off when it's sunny.
I actually went to a TVRCC meeting a couple of weeks ago and a few people commented that they'd never liked the Tamora but now they'd seen one they'd changed their minds. mmmmmmm. Novel.

Agreed it took me 2 months to decide which one would replace the chim the Tamora is a fine car and looks 100% better on the road (actually driving around)i had Mike Walkers car following me on the same run and it really did look a ground hugger,in the end the greater visual impact and the fact ive always wanted one swung it the Tuscans way but i wouldn,t be surprised if a Tam is in the garage next!!

I like Tamoras, and every time I get in one I want one more and more, but if they're not selling, and TMS seem to have had Flasher's old one since before Christmas, and thats a cracking car, I'd always be worried about re-sale, has anyone shifted one privately, and are the dealers giving competative trade in values? If they aren't selling in huge numbers TVR may facelift it, making old shape cars even harder to shift, or maybe make it go the other way into classic status

Interesting - but does it matter ? I thought the whole point about TVR is that they can knock out different designs and it doesn't matter too much how many they sell due to low fixed / high variable costs ? The Tuscan/Tamora/T350 are the same chassis, and I think the Tamora and T350 must have similar interior bits as well. Much of the cost of the TVR must go into the body work - making those molds in the first place and then spending days sanding the bodywork down before painting it.

I think this is the one I've seen (once saw it in the B&Q car park in Wimbledon) and thought it looked great. So much so that I bought one and have had it six weeks now. The looks really do grow on you and it is much better in real life than in photos.
I shall be taking the Tamora plunge very soon. I originally set out to get a Tuscan but after driving both feel that the Tamora is the one for me.
I shall be trading the Cerb in at TMS and taking one of their Tamoras - undecided which one - probably the Grigio Titanio - although I haven't driven it yet. Perhaps a Tuscan next year!
It's either that or take an angle grinder to the roof of the Cerb.

I wasn't entirely sure about the looks when the Tamora came out, but they certainly look the business in the flesh.
The T350, on the other hand, I thought looked the dog's in photos (better looking than the Tam IMO), but not having seen one on the road yet, I couldn't say whether I'd still perfer it having seen it in the metal.
