as an avid european traveller, i am well used to cruising down the french roads, briskly, but safely, enjoying the sheer emptyness and freedom of them! also the autoroutes encourage a high speed aswell.

however, i have had numerous warnings about sticking to the speed limit due to over zealous gendarmes. is this a slight over exaggeration or are they literally waiting on every street corner to rob you blind. i would rather stick to the limits if i knew they were lurking than risk a heavy penalty!

any advise or past experience welcome smile

speed at your own risk....there will be about 90% of the french mobile speed cameras within 100KM of le mans this year!! and the other 10% hiding around the ports. And vice versa on the way home!!
