Hi,
Anyone got a Snooper Syrius Euro Plus ? Just bought one and discovered that Snooper won't give any details on backing up the SD card. Unbelievable - I can understand some of the logic in prevention of piracy - but as a genuine customer and purchaser of the unit - I am not allowed to own a backup in case the card gets corrupted ? I was quoted 3 days to get a replacement card should I have problems. Or pay £149 for a backup SD card with the mapping software on it. So - I am now looking for a method to copy the card. Anyone out there managed it ?? It has some sort of copy prevention on it - I tried the usual methods. But neither Norton Ghost 12 nor Acronis True Image seem to be able to handle it. Acronis tells me that the 2GB card I am trying to copy onto, does not have enough space available. (Yet the original Snooper SD card is marked as 2GB) If I take the card out and put it in a card reader, Windows Explorer tells me it isn't formatted. But I can disable the Snooper software on the PC, connect the Syrius via USB with the card in it (as per for an update) and read the contents of the card via Windows Explorer. All the files are there. But they cannot just be dragged to a new blank 2GB SD card. (I tried that !!)The Syrius then tells me that the new card is not recognised and the unit will not boot up. So - how do I mirror this SD card - to include protection ?? Any one got any ideas ?? This IS NOT PIRACY. I simply want a backup if my SD card fails and I think I am entitled to have one ?? This could cause me to have a serious rethink of continuing to own this unit and send it back for a refund. Pity that Snooper seems to have deemed that their customers are not allowed backups.
