Installing W2K HDD -> XP: Windows Protect issue?
Discussion
Hey guys,
My old Win2K PC had a 160gb HDD in it with all my stuff on it. When the motherboard went bang I simply bought a shiney new DELL machine and tried putting my old HDD in as a slave, but it won't read - it just says "Disk not formatted - format now?" which of course I don't want to do. I did test the HDD back in the old machine (with a new motherboard) and it read fine, so i'm guessing it's some Win XP issue - so how do I get around it?
Ta

PS I can't put it back in the old machine to get the data off as I stupidly gave the machine away, forgetting about this problem!
