Film??? What's that I hear you cry!! hehe

Well, I've got some sheets of L/F film, along with some M/F 120 roll film shot in 6x17 format that I need to get processed, and I'm looking for suggestions as to where to send it.

Previously, I've used Metro Imaging, but as I don't need the speedy service that they provide, I'd like to pay a little less if possible.

Any suggestions?

I'm currently searching around for somewhere local to develop my first 6x6 colour neg.

Have been quoted £6.50 and a 48 hour turnaround?!! This place wasn't even a specialist...

If you don't mind posting off your film, I can highly recommend:

http://www.bpdphotech.com

If they are good enough for Joe Cornish, Charlie Waite and David Ward...

Compared to our local pro lab in Cambridge, the break-even point is about 10 sheets of 5x4 to compensate for the postage (thats for normal processing, there's a bit extra if you want push/pull).

Where have you been hasler, we are all shooting film now. I'd just use metro if I were you. There E6 department is excellent, local to you, and you most certainly get what you pay for IMO! smile

You've all just been copying me! wink I was shooting film back when you were a lad! hehe

Ta for the tips guys. I think I'll give Peak a go, and see how they compare to Metro as they're £1.50 cheaper for 5x4... per shot!!

How about going the whole hog, and processing it yourself?

I spent many a happy hour in my Mum and Dad's cellar in my younger days, where I had a darkroom. OK, it was only black and white, but it was still great fun.

The only prblem with colour though was it had to be in complete darkness, which was a PITA.

Film? That modern flexible stuff? What a bunch of sissies, you should try Wet-Plate Collodian or Ferrotypes, and process your own using lethal chemicals... much more fun smile.

I use dlab7.com for my 120 slide film.
While I'm far from impressed with their 35mm processing, I really can't fault their 120 work.
Never had a single scratch, fingerprint etc.
Turnaround is around a week or so.
They're sent in Kenro sheets / sleeves, and the cost is £2.80 per film for up to 4 films, and £2.50 per film for 5 or more films (including return postage, sent in card backed A4 envelopes).
Cheaper still if you get the processing vouchers through 7dayshop.com at £22.90 for 10 films worth, but then you have to factor in the postage.
