Help.

Haven't driven the car for a over a month due to holiday etc.

Today I discovered a very damp patch under the seat and the carpets are starting to go moldy.

What can I use to dry carpets out and get rid of mold.

I believe the damp patch was caused by it's last clean.

Cheers.

I think I have a cheap and cheerful solution to this (I found it on PH). A 1kg bag of silica gel kept in the car and recharged as necessary on a radiator or in the oven works superbly.

Martin

Company is called Agropharm Ltd. Look for silica gel on their UK site. I think this link gets you there -

http://www.agropharm.co.uk/uk/product_view.asp?pro... £9 ish + p&p.

I bought a small open weave bag locally and used a sewing machine to seal the opening. The crystals need space, so make the bag a 'loose fit'. I leave the whole thing behind the drivers seat and I've not had a problem since.

If not you could put a small air con unit in the car, as they seem to dry the air.
