I have a couple of problems with my 54 CV8. Not serious (I hope) but annoying none the less.

1) Vibration on the steering at about 50-60mph after fitting F1 Eagle tyres. Wheels have been re-balanced (didn't show up as off balance anyway) and still persists.

2) Door locks are playing up. Unlocking and locking either door (or central locking) often doesn't lock/unlock the other door. This has started happening recently and often causes the alarm to chirp at me when locking the doors. It's weird because it's started happening with either door!

Any comments suggestions help advice very welcome.

2) Are you using the other key to the one you usually use as the door unlock/chirping thing is set via the mode button and stored in the key I believe. It's also the default behaviour i.e. you have to turn off chirping etc

Nah, it's the 5 chirps that means a door is open or unlocked. It happens when I press the tit to lock the car and only one or neither doors lock.

Had problem 2 this weekend - passenger door wouldn't lock - after waggling various bits without success I just manually locked the drivers door, unlocked it with the blipper thingy, locked it all up with the blipper thingy and normal service was resumed......if honest though I have no idea why!!!

Have previously had a similar problem when everything appeared to be locked but the alarm kept telling me it wasn't - traced that to a rubber gromit under the bonnet no being fully screwed home

2) I had the same problem last year. Passenger side started to lock and unlock intermittently. Then it would just unlock but not lock. Then it gave up altogether. It turned out to be the central locking motor and had it replaced under warranty.

me too, and it seems that the locks are on back order with no expected delivery date yet!

Hmm, swapping the wheels sounds like an idea. I give it a try.

As for the door locks, I'd be suprised if this was a locking solenoid issue as both doors are showing the same symptom. I can lock/unlock either the passenger door or the drivers door and the opposite door will randomly lock/unlock with it. I'm sort of suspecting voltage issues, maybe my battery is on the way out. I just don't know how sensitive the locking servos are to voltage fluctuations. Maybe I need to take it bcak to vauxhall under warranty, but if I do that I'll have go through the whold warranty argument with them because I've had an engine re-map and catback exhaust. Yes I know it has nothing to do with the door locking mechanism, but you vauxhall dealers do tend to be a bit black and white over the old 'warranty void' argument! Well at least mine is!

Very strange. I had exactly the same problem (2) last week. Tried to lock the doors with the remote and got the 5 beeps. Driver’s side failed to lock. So I used the key. Went to it later and the drivers side would not unlock even with the key. Had to climb in via the passenger side door! Still could not open from the inside. Lock was jammed solid!! When I got home I climbed back out through the passenger’s door and locked it all up. I was going to book it in the next morning but low and behold it worked. Been fine ever since!! No doubt it will fail again after the warranty runs out banghead

1) I have the same problem with the wheel vibrating although it's between 55 and 60 mph. New front Goodyear Eagles since January so maybe a common thing? Not sure on how to rectify it though.

The vibration on the steering wheel. Well I've just got back from having the front and back wheels swapped, I thought I might as well get them all balanced (again) while I'm at is as the min cost of any work was £20 and balancing 4 wheels is £20, so I got them balanced. After removing all the weights none of the tyres was out by less than 85, two of them by 120!!

While trying to get them all balanced we noticed that 3 of the 4 tyres weren't round! yep 3 out of 4 tyres were obviously eliptical to the eye like they had huge flat spots. These on tyres which are basically new! (less than 500 miles on).

I think I've found the reason for the vibration! So I'm going back to the original suppliers tomorrow to see where I stand. I'm amazed by how out of balance the tyres are and totally shocked to find 3 of 4 deformed!

Anyone else with issues with F1 Eagles?

I had the same issue with F1s only had them on for 100 miles or so, also found that the tyres were deformed. I still have them and intend to use them on the back at some point.
