Hello all,

Charles Dunn worked a miracle to get the whole engine back into shape for last Monday at Brands.

I'd done the Indy a few weeks prior but that was on a Novice day. This time the GP was a regular open pitlane day and there were quite a few proper toys.

Here is a vid of a few sessions later on in the day. See if you can spot PetrolTed in his GT3RS (white with red) and Max Biaggi in a Audi R8.

The guy in the open topped white car was in one of these:

Sorry for the odd dubious gear change or long holds, but I went out to find the cars limits......and found only mine!!

Enjoy:

Either Friday or Saturday Brian

Too late for a jaunt down to LM, but how about a trip up to Kimbolton on the 15th July, 4 Can-Ams so far.

P, I envy you on this one mate. I am eager to do the GP circuit at Brands and this has fueled my fire. Only problem may be noise and so I will bimble up there at some point and get it tested.
Do you intend to go to Kimbolton? I feel a convoy coming on ( and I will not be running out of fuel this time! ).

I never got the hang of Paddock - I think I'm turning in too early and taking an early apex therefore leaving me pushing too wide on the exit (you see Biaggi and that R400 take a much later apex and hold buckets more speed).

Car was doing quite a bit of front end running wide (check out the understeer at Surtees).

All other corners were OK - it's just my bottle went whenever I saw gravel in the way of my escape!

Westfield was another point where if the apex was easy to miss - with inevitable outcome. Lots of sawing at the wheel!!

Interesting to see and hear how the new 4th sits with the OE 3rd. There is about a 1500rpm drop which means that I can use just the 3rd and 4th all the way round the track.

Did you HAVE to mention the gloves???!!! They were a present from the girlfriend's outlaws. For cruising in the Maser.

I know they look kinda out of place in the Ult. Will do better next time. Sorry.

It revs to 7 so that's what I'm using......I hope that's OK?!

I know a few prolonged changes were I was concentrating on the 'target' in front instead of the right gear. Bu99er.

Anyone who doesn't get their P&J out there really should consider it. It make the building and the cost all that more worth while.

Pete,

Excellent video, the GP Circuit looks a whole lot more exciting than the Indy circuit we did on the Novice day! How many cars were there? looked a lot less traffic than the previous time.

I take it the white open car with the GT wing was a Radical or some such similar bike engined device, looked like he was making quite a bit of speed himself, when you passed him looked like there was a slight brown trouser moment on the edge of the gravel trap!!!

Just been reading the Evo write-up on the Audi R8 they really rate it, think your footage seems to quite strongly back up their view, pretty formidable piece of kit by the looks of it, imagine what the V10 version will be like.

Herr Stahler.

I would also like to mention that the miracle Charles Dunn did on Pete's car is no longer available. He is all miracled out and busy for the next few weeks while he does the my bump steer and alignment on my car!

Same sort of numbers, just people were all a lot closer in their lap times so even in a whole day you wouldn't come accross everyone.

The white open car is a Spires Sportscar vehicle. Bike I think. Took a few laps in it on Saturday at the Kit Car Live event. Scared me shiteless. Felt a lot faster then when I was driving the Ult behind it!

Audi was fast on the bends....not the straights....but that's all relative when you are strapped into a missile!!
