Short time insurance

Dear all,
After tried all the usual insurance companies in UK
dailyinsurance, insuredaily temp insurance and adrian flux etc, and NONE of them will insure what I need.
I do not live in UK.
I want to drive a car from ex Birmingaham to Newcastle(ferry)
it is an old 911, value up to 14500 £

SO Have any of You guys out there any ideas hos I can drive this thing in uk this short distance?
I start to wonder Is UK really in the eec??
allt eh other contries i'm passing along the way has temp insurances to give out... but UK.....

If you have no luck I would guess a vehiucle delivery company would do the job for under £150.
